Meet the Team
Dr. M.J. LaRue Forman, Practice Owner, D.V.M., Diplomate, A.C.V.I.M.
 |
Dr. M.J. LaRue Forman moved to Jackson Hole with her family in 1970. She graduated from Jackson-Wilson High School in 1978. She attended Colorado State University for her undergraduate degree and graduated from Veterinary School in 1985. Dr. Forman ventured to the east coast where she slaved as an intern in small animal medicine and surgery at a specialty hospital in Connecticut. She was accepted to a three year small animal internal medicine residency at Tufts University. It was here that she met the love of her life and current co-owner, Dr. Daniel Forman. After completing advanced degrees, Dan and M.J. practiced in New Hampshire for two years. The loss of a dear family member brought the couple back to Jackson Hole where they married in 1991. Spring Creek Animal Hospital was born July of 1992. That same year, M.J. became the first board certified veterinary internal medicine specialist in a three state area. Their beautiful children came into their lives in 1995 (Josh) and 1996 (Matthew). The growth and success of both the animal hospital and the children have amazed even them! In addition to being a business owner, veterinarian, wife, mother, daughter and hockey/soccer mom, M.J. loves exercise of any type, but in particular hiking, biking and skiing. She enjoys reading and spends any spare time keeping memories of her wonderful and full life by scrap booking!
Dr. MJ has the following furry critters at home: dogs Chase, Nellie, and Jack; cats Nesta and Gretzky.

Dr. Daniel G. Forman, D.V.M.
 |
Dr. Daniel G. Forman received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Cornell University in 1983. After spending a year in Graduate School in search of a Master's Degree in Reproductive Physiology from The University of Maryland, College Park, he entered veterinary school at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Upon completion of his degree in veterinary medicine in 1988, he was accepted into an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, where he honed his veterinary skills and developed a lifelong love for exotic animal medicine. His greatest achievement was finding the love of his life in veterinary school; a third year teaching resident at Tufts University named M.J. LaRue. They were married in 1991 and have two wonderful sons, Josh and Matt. Drs. Dan and M.J. Forman created Spring Creek Animal Hospital on July 3, 1992, with a total staff of one additional person. Today, Spring Creek Animal Hospital is a fully accredited facility of the American Animal Hospital Association with a staff of over 25 wonderful and caring animal lovers. That is Dr. Forman's second proudest accomplishment.
Dr. Forman has served on numerous non-profit boards in Jackson Hole, currently serving as an advisor for the Learning Center, an organization specializing in developmental disorders for children age birth through five years, and PAWS, a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life of companion animals in Jackson Hole. After 9/11, he worked with the Wyoming Department of Homeland Security on bio-terrorism issues. He is the Staff Veterinarian for the Wyoming Wetlands Society, dedicated to increasing the population and range of Trumpeter Swans. He routinely performs pro-bono work on raptors and other wildlife for the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish and is the State Liaison for the Association of Avian Veterinarians. He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Wyoming Veterinary Medical Association. He has been recognized with achievement awards by the Morris Animal Foundation and the American Canine Association.
Between attending his sons various sporting events, Dr. Dan likes to hike, play softball and wonder what it would be like playing centerfield for the Boston Red Sox, not necessarily in that order...
Among many other Boards, Dr. Forman presently serves on the Board for Teton County Board of Public Health as well as being a Board Member for the Teton Raptor Center.
Dr. Dan's animal family includes three dogs: Chase, Nellie, and Jack; and two cats: Nesta and Gretzky.

Dr. Kathrin Luderer, D.V.M.
Dr. Kathrin Luderer was born in Braunschweig, Germany. At the age of two her family moved to New Jersey where her love for animals developed at an early age. Restricted by her family's frequent travels to a cat and a pair of gerbils, she became the neighborhood "critter-sitter" and in the fourth grade announced, "I'm going to be a veterinarian."
After receiving a BA in biology from Tufts University in Medford, MA, she attended Tufts Veterinary School and graduated in 1989. As a senior at Tufts she was mentored by Dr. M.J. Forman who was completing her residency training in Internal Medicine at the time.
Following graduation she became an associate veterinarian in a busy small-animal practice in Worcester, MA. While there she adopted Bruno, a Pitbull-Lab puppy found injured and abandoned on the streets of Worcester. Kathrin chose to rescue and repair him and he has become one of her closest companions and helped ease her transition between her East Coast life and her move west.
In 1998, seeking a major life change and finally pursuing a life-long dream to live in the mountains, she and Bruno headed west and arrived in Jackson, Wyoming. In 2001, she married long time Jackson resident Joe Larrow and in 2002 they started a family and had a beautiful son Driscoll, who is named after an old ski patrol buddy of Joe's.
Although her special interest is soft tissue surgery, she enjoys the many varied aspects of being a veterinarian and is always amazed at how no two days are ever the same and that there is always something new to learn.
Kathrin considers herself very lucky to be able to live and work in this beautiful valley and in her free time, enjoys many outdoors pursuits including alpine and cross country skiing, hiking and biking.
Dr. Kathrin has an older dog named Fleur that gets the entire family's love and affection.

Dr. Heather Carleton, D.V.M.
Dr. Heather Carleton first moved to Jackson, Wyoming, in 1989 to work at a guest ranch and soon fell in love with the area. Instead of returning to the east coast for college, she decided to pursue her undergraduate degree at the University of Montana in Missoula. In 1995, she graduated with a B.A. in Zoology and English Literature and spent the next summer working as a naturalist in Grand Teton National Park.
In 2001, Dr. Carleton graduated from Colorado State University's veterinary school; she then continued on with a medical and surgical internship in Bend, Oregon, that was completed the next year. Following her internship, Heather moved back to Montana and worked in a mixed animal practice that saw everything from emus to bison, not to mention a lot of cats and dogs! In 2004, she and ten other veterinarians started a small animal emergency clinic in Missoula where she honed her skills in critical care medicine and was fortunate enough to work in conjunction with Dr. David Bostwick, an internal medicine specialist in the area.
In 2005, Dr. Carleton returned to Vermont to spend some time with her family. While there, she worked in a progressive, five doctor small animal clinic where she developed a special interest in dentistry. In her spare time, she volunteered weekly at the local Humane Society and helped to develop protocols to prevent the spread of disease within the shelter. She also donated her time to perform free neuters for the 70+ cats at the shelter and started the "homeward bound fund" to help sponsor cats who were in desperate need of homes. In 2006, Dr. Carleton was approached by Embrace, a new up and coming pet insurance company, to be on the board of advisors. She accepted the position and now works closely with the company as they continue to develop and expand their insurance coverage to pet owners.
After 18 years of first living in Jackson, Dr. Carleton is very excited to be back in the valley and working for us. She would love to meet you and your pets, so please do not hesitate to come in for a visit. When she is not at work, you will see her out on the trails enjoying all that Jackson has to offer.
Dr. Heather's pets consist of two cats named LD and Scooter as well as two dogs named Mahdi and Mr. P. Both of her canine friends were adopted from Thailand on her travels.

Dr. Kaley Parent, D.V.M.
Dr. Kaley Parent grew up on the beaches of South Florida and from an early age was drawn to animals, spending much of her youth competing in equestrian competitions. Looking to further her relationship with our best friends she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and immediately thereafter her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 1999. Drawn to adventure, Dr. Parent undertook an externship during veterinary school which brought her to Jackson and made her fall in love with the mountainous west.
After graduating from MSU, Dr. Parent again went west but this time with her Labrador mix Shelby to continue the adventure. In the nine years following her graduation from MSU, she practiced mixed animal veterinary medicine in Wyoming and Idaho looking for the right fit, which fit she found in Spring Creek Animal Hospital in 2008.
While in Jackson, she met and married Clay Geittmann, a local attorney and partner at Mullikin Larson & Swift, LLC. During their marriage she and Clay recently added their son, and love of their life, Will, to complement their family menagerie which previously consisted of only four legged critters. In her free time, Dr. Parent likes to explore this incredible valley by running the trails, riding her bikes, fly fishing, backpacking, Nordic and downhill skiing and much, much more. Dr. Parent loves Jackson, all that it has to offer and really looks forward to raising her family in this valley as well as honing her craft at Spring Creek Animal Hospital.

Dr. Erick Egger, D.V.M.
 |
Dr. Egger completed his undergraduate education and received his DVM at Colorado State University in 1975. He then completed a small animal Internship at Purdue University (1976) and a surgical Residency at the University of Missouri (1978). Following a short period in a Boston private veterinary surgical referral practice, he joined the teaching faculty at Iowa State University in 1978 where he specialized in orthopedics. In 1982, he fulfilled the requirements and was certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Later that year, he joined the faculty at Colorado State University and in 1986 was promoted and tenured.
Dr. Egger has participated as Chairman of various ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons) and VOS (Veterinary Orthopedic Society) committees over the years and in 1986 served as President of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Egger's early research and writing activities covered a wide range of surgical topics. Recently, he narrowed that focus to concentrate on fracture fixation and the effects of fracture mechanical environment on fracture healing. To that end, in 1990 he completed a ten month sabbatical leave at the Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory of the Mayo Clinic where he was investigating the effects of axial "dynamization" on fracture healing. While at the Mayo Clinic, he also developed animal models for studying bone ingrowth into metallic prosthesis and a new method for attaching tendons to metallic prosthesis. He and collaborators received a special recognition award in 1994 from the Austrian government for this work. In addition, he developed an Acrylic Pin External Fixator system (APEF) for fracture management that became commercially available in 1992. These efforts resulted in his being recognized as "Oustanding Researcher" by the CSU Research Foundation for three years. In 1995, he was one of the co-founders of the CSU Biomechanics Laboratory that received federal support for establishment. Current research activities include continuing development of the Acrylic Pin External Fixator system, improvement of total hip replacement devices and implantation techniques, and serving as a consultant on a number of biomedical projects.
In September of 1997, Dr. Egger left CSU's clinical practice to join the Surgical Referral Services in Fort Collins, Colorado, and began his own Veterinary Orthopedic Consulting (VOC) consulting practice, to provide outreach service in Jackson, Wyoming, and Aspen, Colorado. In 2004, he was given a "Special Appointment" in small animal orthopedics and continues research, clinical and teaching activities.
